Insanity =)

Ok so we are a little crazy but not insane. James and I decided to start the "Insanity" workout series today and we're feeling the pain already, its a good pain though. Honestly I like the feeling of sore muscles because I know I'm getting stronger by the second. This quote by Einstein will keep us going when life gets in the way of this physical goal of ours, like they say you can't have a strong body with a weak mind.  Our plan is to complete 2 months without missing a single day, except Sunday of course. So wish us luck, and let the transformations begin!

Laie Beach Park!

James and I decided to walk along the beautiful coast by Laie Beach Park after church. We came upon what used to be a pier a long time ago, it was a pretty cool scene so I had to take a picture of it! The Hau'ula 3rd Ward is amazing: its a great ethnic mixture of native Tongans, Samoans, and Hawaiins with just a sprinkle of white, just how I like it. Sacrament meetings are filled with the most wonderful blend of heartfelt music as you can imagine! James and I feel like were apart of the ward now, James is known as the guy with the matching socks and bow tie and I'm known as the wife of the guy with a bow tie :) The people here are very nice and welcoming. We want to stay in the ward for as long as we can. Peace and Blessings to all! Love Shannon and James Bass.

Kahuku here I Come!

Aloha friends and family! As James said earlier I got an awesome job last week at the Kahuku Grill! Its one of the more popular places to go eat on the North Shore. I've had three days of training but I'm still trying to get the menu mastered and the ins and outs of how everything works with the new Ipad system. It's a great atmosphere to be apart of with the surfboards, the ocean murals, and the awesome people I work with. If any of you come to visit North Shore Oahu come by and say hi!!! Our coconut shrimp is to die for :P If you don't die over that try our Twice as Much Burger, that will do it.

Other than working I've been trying to do my homework and not get distracted by all the other fun outdoor extravaganzas I could be doing with my rad husband. I have to remember that I'm here for school, not surfing. "Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve." Not go forth to Surf hah.

It's for fun

So Shannon is awesome and got a part time job.  She can tell you more about that, but it is awesome that she got it and we are so blessed.  So Saturday Shannon had to go to work and I was left to just chill.  Who can think of what to do in their free time, I mean it is not like Hawaii has a lot of options.  I had gotten some snorkel gear and thought that I should give it a proper test.  I went to Turtle Bay since the water was pretty choppy and Turtle Bay is pretty protected from the big waves that come to the North Shore.

Here are a couple of shots I took while out snorkeling.  I am still getting used to how to get some good pics while under water.  I really want to go find some turtles and get some awesome pictures of those.

Hukilau Beach!

What a beautiful day at Hukilau beach! We're a bit spoiled over here with the water temperature, no wetsuits are needed all year round...sorry my fellow Californians.

I really liked this shot of James, to me he shines above the brightness of the sun. What a lucky girl I've become to have such a wonderful husband to look after and cherish forever. Our days here are numbered, but we will live these next two years to the fullest! It is such a blessing to go to BYU-H and now have the love and support of my dear James.

News about our wedding and honeymoon to come! :D

Let Them Read Blogs!

We are learning from the great politicians of time and listening to the people.  The people have requested of Shannon and I that we start a blog, so here we are giving the people what they want.

So Shannon and I have been in Hawaii for a couple of days now.  It is a rough place to start a life, when you can hear the waves crashing outside your bedroom window as you fall asleep.  Luckily the place we are staying in has lots of fans so we can keep cool.  We have been doing a lot of running around trying to get things started.

That is the view out of our bedroom window, I tried to get a picture with a reduce screen affect.

After a long flight and going to Costco and Target to get things we finally made it to our apartment and didn't have much energy left so we crashed hard.  And like most people we thought that it would be a great idea to go to the beach and help us recover from our travels.
